Literacy Intervention Programme

Students are identified through the baseline assessment system and the STEPS database and those who have low literacy levels or are not making good progress with their literacy.

Maths Intervention programme

Students are identified through the baseline assessment system and the STEPS database and those who have low maths levels or are not making good progress with their maths.

Attendance/SEMH Intervention programme

This programme targets those students who struggle to maintain good attendance levels, particularly FSM students to ensure they have the maximum opportunity to succeed. The correlation between attendance and progress is inextricably linked.

PE kit

PE kit is provided for all students, to encourage team work.

The £9000 income for CLA was spent @ £500 per individual CLA per term.

Strategies and Support

Listed below are a range of strategies that were implemented throughout 2015/16 to support all Pupil Premium students.

  • 1-1 intervention to support literacy
  • 1-1 intervention to support numeracy
  • 1-1 intervention to support Social Emotional Mental Health
  • Extra – curricular activities to help with SEMH and self-esteem, for example Saddle Up, Right Trax, music lessons, boxing, Hair & Beauty 
  • 1-1 time with named tutor/mentor for specific subject/supported theme
  • PE Kit

 

Academic Year 2015 - 2016 Impact and Outcomes

 Attainment

English

100% of our Ever6 students, (including FSM) gained a qualification in English, this matched the achievement of the whole cohort. 50% Ever6 students achieved an English GCSE; 40% an Entry Level qualification and 10% a Functional Skill at Entry Level.

Maths

100% of our Ever6 students gained a qualification in Maths, this was a positive gap compared to the whole cohort. 15% Ever6 students achieved a Maths GCSE, 85% an Entry Level qualification.

 Progress

English

15% more of the non-pupil premium cohort made progress in English than compared to the pupil premium cohort.

Maths

The Ever6, (including FSM) Pupil Premium cohort compared to the Non Pupil Premium cohort  have not only closed the gap but are demonstrating a positive gap.

Behaviour

The Ever6, (including FSM) Pupil Premium cohort compared to the Non Pupil Premium cohort matched the percentage progress made across the year.

Attendance

The Ever6, (including FSM) Pupil Premium cohort compared to the Non Pupil Premium cohort  have not only closed the gap but are demonstrating a positive gap.
