Briar Patch
The Briar Patch building is situated on the edge of Letchworth Garden City. This site first opened in 1992.
The main Briar Patch building is a two story former Children's Home that houses many curriculum classrooms including the Science and Art room. On this site there is also a tennis/basketball court.
Our purpose built Mechanics Workshop is sited on the Briar Patch site; this includes a large practical workshop with room for a full size car as well as space to work on smaller mechanical components; two classroom areas and an office.
The following KS4 Vocational Programmes are delivered at our Briar Patch site:
- Animals and the Environment
- Mechanics
All of our Vocational Programmes include the same offer of academic subjects, thus the timetable consists of the following curriculum areas:
English, Maths, Core PE/ODP, Prince’s Trust Achieve, PSHE/RSE, Tutor lesson, a choice of option lessons in: either Biology, Art or Enterprise, a choice of Arts Award or Duke of Edinburgh
We also offer the KS3 In-reach programme where the young people have the opportunity to study:
English, Maths, Science, ICT, Art and Craft, PSHE, Life Skills, Tutor lesson, Humanities, Cooking, Finance, Model making, PE, Boxing, Horse riding and Bush Craft.
